Your Meals Will Arrive Frozen
Your meals leave Blueberry Hill Meals fully frozen and are packed in insulated packaging designed and tested to keep them frozen throughout the scheduled delivery period.
Courier deliveries are made between 8am and 6pm on your selected delivery date.
When your parcel arrives, please unpack your meals and transfer them to your freezer as soon as possible and no later than 6pm that day.
You Don't Need to Be at Home
You don't need to wait at home for your delivery, but you must provide clear instructions for a safe place where the courier can leave your parcel if nobody is available to receive it.
Please choose somewhere that is:
-
Secure and easy for the driver to access
-
Sheltered from direct sunlight
-
Protected from rain and adverse weather
Once your parcel has been delivered to you or left in your nominated safe place, it is your responsibility to retrieve it and transfer the meals to your freezer by 6pm that day.
On the Day of Your Delivery
Your delivery will be made by DPD Local and is scheduled to arrive between 8am and 6pm.
Please keep an eye on the tracking information and delivery notifications provided by DPD Local. These will help you know when to expect your parcel.
If you won't be at home, please make arrangements to ensure that the parcel can be retrieved from your nominated safe place and the meals placed in a freezer by 6pm.
When Your Meals Arrive
Please open your parcel and check your meals before transferring them to your freezer.
If the meals are still frozen, place them straight into your freezer.
Please use gloves to handle the cold packs and avoid handling them with bare hands.
If any meals have completely thawed, do not refreeze them.
If your parcel is delivered before 6pm but you believe any of the meals have thawed during transit, please contact Blueberry Hill Meals as soon as possible. Do not eat or refreeze the affected meals until you have spoken to us.
Where possible, please take photographs of the meals and packaging when you open the parcel. This will help us investigate what has happened.
What Happens if Your Delivery Is Late?
Our courier packaging is designed and tested to keep your meals frozen throughout the scheduled 8am–6pm delivery period.
If DPD Local delivers your parcel after 6pm, please check your meals as soon as they arrive.
If the meals are still frozen, they can be transferred straight to your freezer as normal.
If any meals have thawed following a delivery after 6pm, please do not eat or refreeze them. Contact Blueberry Hill Meals and we will arrange a refund for the affected meals.
Where possible, please take photographs of the meals and packaging so that we can investigate the delayed delivery with DPD Local.
Your Responsibility for the Delivery
It is your responsibility to make suitable arrangements for your parcel to be received or left safely and for your meals to be transferred to a freezer by 6pm on your selected delivery date.
If DPD Local delivers your parcel within the scheduled 8am–6pm delivery period, Blueberry Hill Meals cannot accept responsibility for meals that subsequently thaw or deteriorate because the parcel has not been received, retrieved from your nominated safe place or transferred to a freezer by 6pm.
This does not affect your rights if there has been a problem with the delivery itself. For example, if your meals have thawed despite being retrieved promptly following an on-time delivery, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can investigate.
If There Is a Problem With Your Delivery
Please contact Blueberry Hill Meals as soon as possible if:
-
Your delivery arrives after 6pm and any of the meals have thawed.
-
Your meals appear to have thawed during transit despite the parcel being delivered on time and retrieved promptly.
-
Any of your meal containers are damaged.
-
You have any other concerns about the condition or safety of your meals.
Please do not eat or refreeze meals if you are concerned that they have thawed during delivery.
Taking photographs of the parcel, packaging and affected meals when you open the box will help us investigate any problems with the courier.
What Should I Do With the Packaging?
We've chosen packaging that helps keep your meals frozen during their journey while also offering options to reuse or recycle the different components once you've unpacked your order.
Cardboard Delivery Box
The outer cardboard delivery box can be recycled with your usual household cardboard recycling.
Before recycling it, why not keep it for storage or reuse it for returning your wool liners?
Gel Ice Packs
The gel packs can be reused or recycled.
Reuse them: Keep the packs intact and pop them back in your freezer. They're handy for picnics, lunchboxes, cool bags or even for treating bumps and sports injuries.
Dispose of the gel: When you're ready to recycle the pack, snip a corner and empty the non-toxic gel into your general waste. Alternatively, the gel can be washed down the sink with plenty of hot running water.
Recycle the outer plastic: Rinse the empty plastic wrapper and take it to a local supermarket collection point that accepts soft plastics, or check with your local council to see whether soft plastic can be recycled in your area.
Wool Insulation
The insulated liner inside your box is made from sheep's wool and is biodegradable. It can also be reused around the home or returned to the manufacturer to be used again.
Puffin Packaging operates a free wool liner return and reuse scheme. Once you have collected a minimum of six liners, you can return them to Puffin Packaging free of charge.
You can even reuse one of your Blueberry Hill delivery boxes to package the liners for their return.
Full instructions, including how to download and print your free returns label, are available on the Puffin Packaging website.
Thank you for helping us reuse and recycle as much of our courier packaging as possible.
